Caracas, Venuezuela - At 10:42 am today the funeral of President Hugo Chavez moved from the Dr. Carlos Arvelo Military Hospital in Caracas where the attendees sang the National Anthem, some hymns and also celebrated a Mass. Holy water sprinkled on the coffin that was covered with the national flag.

After the Mass, the body of the Head of State was placed on the funeral hearse. Elena Chávez Frías, mother of the president, and Maria Gabriela Chavez, daughter, were present outside the Military Hospital where a marching band honored the president. Vice President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, the National Assembly president, Diosdado Cabello, Cilia Flores Attorney General, the Foreign Minister, Elias Jaua, the president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, the mayor of Caracas, Jorge Rodriguez, Iris Varela ministers, Rafael Ramírez, Mari Pili Hernandez, Héctor Rodríguez, Néstor Reverol Aristobulo Isturiz and governors as Tarek El Aissami, were among the officials who were beside the hearse, with President of the Republic .

The funeral procession took him through the streets of Caracas to the Military Academy. At that time, the song "Fatherland, fatherland, patria querida" which was sung by Chavez during his last speech on December 8, 2012 was played, and the strains of "Venezuela" was heard in the background followed by "Chavez live" and "Chavez the Pantheon next to Simon."

From the balconies of nearby houses, standing on the walls, even on the roofs of Caracas Metro stations, hundreds of people witnessed the procession with the president's body. Some tearfully sang "Those who die for life, not be called dead, and from this moment is prohibited mourn" lyrics of Ali Primera was playing in the background.

At 12:55 noon, the procession funeral carring the remains of Chavez that began in the avenue of Caracas then down Lecuna San Martin Avenue and El Silencio. Red and white roses covered the coffin on their way through the streets. The Venezuelan baseball player Antonio "El Potro" Alvarez joined the funeral route at Lecuna Avenue and was accompanied by Minister Iris Varela.
