Palestinian Israeli Conflict

In the recent raid on the flotilla of ships taking aid to the Palestinians by Israeli commandos seems to demonstrate that the current government of Israel does not want a peaceful Middle East solution.

If the vessel that was boarded was owned and operated by the Russians or Chinese or the USA governments the boarding of the ship would not have taken place. Israel’s engagement could be categorized as an act of war and is the sort of provocative action that some countries use as justification for the possession of a deterrent.

If Turkey or any other country in the Middle East were in the possession of a deterrent there would have been one of two solutions, absolute peace or absolute destruction, see the doctrine of MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction). The MAD concept kept both the Western and Eastern nations “secure” because of established and somewhat predictable governments, however the same cannot be said for many governments in the Middle East and the current government of Israel seems to be in that unpredictable category. I hope that the government of Israel ceases its relentless land grabbing pursuit and domination of the Palestinians and return to the pre 1967 borders and comply with all UN resolutions, then sit down with its Middle Eastern neighbors and the US for honest and meaningful peace discussions. The time is right; the President of USA is the right person for this task because he is in the possession of huge political in much of the world. Israelis Carpe Diem!

There is a surge of knowledge acquisition in the world today and it is imperative that all stakeholders sit down at the peace table before the genie comes out of the bottle. The knowledge of the creation of apocalyptic weapons of mass destruction beyond nuclear weapons will not remain in the hands of a few select nations for very long. Globalization, computer technology and migration/remigration of people have significantly reduced the time taken for knowledge transfer to full scale development. The materials needed for the development of some deadly technology lie in countries where the structure of stable governments is in its infancy. This combination of knowledge and material assets in unstable hands is certainly worrisome to many nations like the USA, China and Russia. Israel with its limited natural resources and population clustered in such a small area should also be very worried. The people of Israel deserve to live not in fear but peace and harmony with its neighbors.

I am in total agreement with President Obama in his quest to create a nuclear free Middle East as a first step to a safer world; however this must be accomplished soon. There are newer, more deadly and inconspicuous weapons that are in the development and testing stages therefore it is absolutely necessary to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility before it is too late.

In its continued quest for domination Israel could lose it all, but the cost of losing is much too high for everyone, therefore the people of Israel must work with the United States Government in a speedy resolution to this issue. See below for the story of “The Dog and The Bone.”

The Dog and the Bone
Once a stray dog while searching for food came to a butcher’s shop. There he got a bone with some meat on it. So, he lifted it and ran to a safe place to enjoy it at ease.

He chewed the bone for a very long time and this made him quite thirsty. So, he went to a river to quench his thirst and took the bone along.

As the dog stood on a bridge that crossed the river, he saw his reflection in the water but did not understand that it was himself. Rather, he thought it to be another dog with a bone in his mouth.

Being greedy by nature, he wanted that bone too. So, he barked at the other dog, hoping to scare it into giving him the bone. But alas! The bone that he held in its mouth fell into the river and was lost.
